Thrifting Is Cheaper Than Therapy

Thrifting can be therapeutic and help with mental health in a number of ways:

  • Mood boost Finding a great item at a thrift store can trigger the release of dopamine, which can improve your mood and brighten your day.

  • Coping mechanism Some people with depression or other mental health issues say that thrifting helps them manage their condition. For example, one person used thrifting to rebuild their closet without spending a lot of money, and another found it therapeutic when they were feeling overwhelmed.

  • Hobby Thrifting can feel like a hobby, and some people enjoy the "hunt" for a great bargain on a treasure, collecting, and just getting out.

  • ECHO Thrift Store and ECHO Home and More are great stores to come to and thrift away. We have so much inventory coming in everyday that it is like a new store each time you visit. If you haven't been to ECHO lately, you haven't been to ECHO.
